Herbs to help Borderline Personality Disorder
Jun 23, 2021Borderline personality disorder is a complicated disease. The symptoms that are associated with this disease can be treated with medication. Not the traditional medications, but with herbs. Any use of herbs should be discussed with your doctor first before trying them.
Here is a list of herbs and what they are used for.
- Yerba Mate: Yerba mate is an herb from Argentina. It naturally is an anti-depressant, anti-anxiety, and mood stabilizer. In Argentina, yerba mate is also given to children to even out their mood or attitudes. it is also known to relieve fatigue and stimulate mental energy.
- Kava kava: This is the best anti-anxiety herb. It has been used to fight fatigue, insomnia, and anxiety. it does take effect very quickly and will leave you with a mellow type feeling. Kava kava should never be taken with prescription anti-anxiety drugs such as tricyclic antidepressants & benzodiazepines.
- Valerian: It has a long tradition of use in treating insomnia, anxiety, and depression. It can also be used to treat self-injury urges. Valerian relieves pain and tension. It quiets & soothes the brain and nervous system. It should not be taken with sleeping medications, since it can enhance their effects. According to the book A Woman's Guide to Vitamin, Herbs, & Supplements, in about 5% of the population, it can cause hallucinations.
